Gabriel Babineau has a Bachelor of Laws from the Université du Québec à Montréal. He began his career at the Quebec Court of Appeal working as a law clerk for the Honourable François Doyon.

Professional background

After practising for several years at Desrosiers, Joncas, Nouraie, Massicotte (Le Groupe Nouraie), Gabriel Babineau joined Desjardins Bolduc, where his focus is on criminal, penal and disciplinary law before the various competent administrative and judicial bodies. Over the years, he has worked on a variety of cases, including in mega-trials involving large-scale operations. He frequently defends cases before the Quebec Court of Appeal.

During his studies, Gabriel Babineau developed a marked interest for individual rights and freedoms and privacy protection. He received The Bar of Montreal Award for his involvement as part of the Projet Innocence Québec (Quebec Innocence Project), which helps to exonerate victims of miscarriages of justice. Counsel Babineau is currently pursuing a Master of Laws at the Université de Laval. His Master’s thesis deals with the right to legitimate protest and mass arrests.

His dedication to protecting individual rights and his firm conviction in every individual’s right to full defence drive his commitment and dedication in representing his clients.
